Default Coolant Temperature Gauge

So replaced my rear main seal in my 90 ef hatch. After is was all said in done i noticed my coolant temperature gauge isn't working anymore. It was working perfectly fine before i did the seal. I checked the connection to the cluster (good), the connection to the block under the distributor (good). But i cant figure out why its not working anymore. Am i missing a connection that could be or loose or what. Tips and advice please...

Check for continuity from temp gauge wire below dist. to the pin at the ECU. Wires get brittle and could have cracked during the repair.
