Did I get a bad tuned ECU?
So i needed a JDM GSR ecu and found a guy online who does "mailorder tunes" with great feedback. I ordered a tune for my motor with intake header and exhaust.
He put the JDM B18C map on an SST chip with these settings added:
Rev limit 8200
Vtec 4500
Shift 7500
Launch 3600
I got the ECU and put it in, and first thing I noticed was no CEL shift light like I asked for. Fine I could live without it. But then I noticed the launch control setting is REALLY slow, not like other 2 step videos I have seen, mine seems to be like a lagged version. Hard to explain, when it should be like, for lack of better explanation, blem blem blem blem, mine sounds like, blem.....blem......blem.....blem.
Any idea what could be wrong if anything? Could the wrong values cause a slower rev limiter? Or is this normal for 3,600 RPM's?
This along with the missing CEL shift light is making me wonder if the tune was done right.
Any help is appreciated

Crome, (I'm assuming that is what the ecu is programmed with) has a slow 2 step especailly when it is set at a low rpm.

Sounds like that's what he used. Also can't even rev the car up anymore, it just hits rev limiter at 3600 at a stop no matter what, thought that you could rev past the 2 step unless you push the pedal all the way down, guess i was wrong
If your speed sensor or mph gauge isn't working ,then yes the ecu will still think that your still at a dead stop even tho your not.
Chrome launch control is deactivated by the speed sensor.

so you ordered a chipped ecu (not a mail order tune....it IS A BASEMAP...not a tune) with a basemap on it and those are your only complaints?
it'd be happy if it even drove relatively well! Did you contact the people who did your ecu prior to posting this thread?
if you specifically asked for a CEL shiftlight, thats different. did you ask for what RPM? did you specify a launch RPM?
again, it is not a tune. It is a guestimate on what will run the engine properly so you can drive the car around FROM POINT A TO POINT B UNTIL YOU HAVE THE ENGINE PROPERLY TUNED!

The 2-step is slow because he is using Crome, and doesnt not have the proper version to set it properly. If you want something with 100% working functions your going to have to switch over to Neptune or Hondata. On a side not those SST chips if not original will give issues with Crome and do weird things.
