This is on a 1989 Honda Accord DX model with a 2 BBL carburetor. I've been wondering about this hose that is coming from the exhaust manifold. I'm wondering where it is supposed to go. It appears to be broken. :

It looks like some sort of hose used for the EGR system. What is this for and what does it do?

There is a connection right under the air intake for the carburetor that looks like it would fit it. The problem, as you can see, is that my hose is broken. Just wanted to see if any of you all knew what this is for and where it goes.

Here is the connection I'm speaking of:

(right under that big main intake port, it's a circular hole that I suspect is where the hose is supposed to connect)

I just wanted to get verification and information from an individual more knowledgeable and experienced than I.

Its a preheater hose. Take it to your local parts store and theyll get you one the same size. If they dont know what it is or say they dont have it, find a new parts store...lol.

Advance Auto, AutoZone, OReilly, Napa, Federated...they all have preheater hose, may not be exact but you should be able to find one that will work.
