Default 225/50/R16 on 96-00 Civic?

I purchased some slicks for autox and didn't have a set of 15" rims. I bought a 225-50-r16 and put them on the car and there is barely enough room in the wheel well. I am going to get an alignment soon but will raising the car and/or giving more negative camber help enough to use them? They are only about an inch taller than the 225-50-r15 but I am not sure. I googled and didnt really find anything about 96-00 Civic.

Wheel specs: 16x7.5 +40 offset if I am not mistaken

Close thread! I went for it and mounted my slicks and raised the car and I managed to squeeze them in. Doesn't look the best but I am not rubbing so that is what matters.

I wanna run these exact size tires in my 00 civic. How much did you have to raise the car? Would a 5mm wheel spacer help fitment?

I have the exact wheel specs as you. Rota grid. 16x7. 40et

I have Koni/GC setup and raised the rear 8 rotations and front was 3 rotations so about an inch in the rear and maybe a 1/2" in the front. Just a guess. My car was pretty low though. And good news for you! I mounted my slicks to Rota Grids (getting rpf's soon). As far as 5mm spacer, I didn't add a spacer at all. Actually, I ended up pulling the fender slightly because my daily rims are 16x8.5 +20 offset. Anyway here is a pic of what it looks like. Bad pics but I can get more if you want. Blacks are front and gold are rear. Bumper is sagging too lol

nice fitment. I have tein h-tech springs with kyb agx roughly 1inch front drop and .6 rear .... Its really mild... I have 205/45/16 now and only problem i see with bigger tires is when i go full lock to lock i have roughly 1/2inch gap from inside frame rail... IM probably just gonna have to get coilovers to fit these bigger tires... How are the gc coilovers for drag racing? what spring rates did you go with?

Thanks. I would just get coilovers and call it a day. I don't drag so I can't say how good or bad they are. Mine are off the shelf rates but I want to get some PIC coilovers later or stiffer springs for sure. The off the shelf rates are decent for daily and spirited driving but I know I am going to run into problems when I track and autox. Anxious to try them out now though after my cage installation.
