Post Wire/Brake Tuck Wiring Questions
So, I bought a shell last year and finally got to it. The shell was rust free and no body damage so I had to jump on it. Got a great deal even considering some of the things I have ran into.
This shell had a wire/brake tuck done on it. Thought all I needed to do is get the fuse box wired in and I would be set. Today, I got to the point of starting it and not much happened. The dash turned on. When trying to turn it over, I could hear the click from under the dash but that was it.
So, I went back under the passenger side dash and undid some of the wrappings that were put on to manage the wires of the harness. My question, is there any wires after a post wire/brake tuck that should have been remained cut? Or should all wires be leading somewhere? Just don't want to go through the hassle of figuring out where all the wires should be going if I don't have to.
Also, there are some wires that have a couple wires going to the same wire. Is there any reason this would have been done?
Never have done a wire/brake tuck and the research I have done doesn't suggest there are wires that will remain cut or wires that will be grouped together.
That being said, are these wires 18ga? And is there anywhere that sells wires with the same color coordination(black/red, blue/white, green/yellow, etc) online?
Don't have pictures at the moment but can easily get some if needed.

The only reason to have "cut wires" left over not going anyplace is if something was deleted, like A/C.
Daisy chaining, more then one wire at any given wire, is common practice in automotive wiring, EG; on some Honda/Acura the output of the fuel injector relay, [in PGM-FI Main Relay] is split, "daisy chained" to the injectors, IGP 1 and IGP2 at ECU/ECM and some engine solenoid/valves and even heated O2 sensors]
By the sounds of it, the tuck was not done properly, in a proper tuck all unused leads would be removed, EG; if you delete A/C, all A/C wiring should be removed, extentions to leads would be made at differant points along the harness so as not to end up with a lump.
If you want the match wiring, color and tracer, the best way is to use wiring from a doner harness, wiring gauge depends on the wire, Honda/Acura use wiring from 6ga down to 24ga, most wiring extentions could be made with 18ga, but the correct gauge is always best, and never under size. 94
