where are good grounding points
hey ive got a b16a got an hks grounding kit is there anywhere specific i should do em up or anywhere not to do em up or just like anywhere trans, motor somewhere maybe strut towers? and i asume the coupe existing grounds or do i leave them and go elsewhere if it matters at all?
They aren't necessary, but there are a few wires that actually help. If you run an ECU like a Hondata, you can monitor the sensors and actually their voltages stabilize after installing a grounding kit.
Stock, the ground from battery goes straight to chassis. It then gets passed through welds and resistance which all add up to small losses. The major loss is the factory cables which open up and oxidize over time. The grounding kits just supplement the existing old and worn factory grounds.
Distributor bolt
VTEC Solenoid bolt - or anywhere near for all cylinder head sensors.
Intake Manifold - for IAT Sensor bolt
TB - for MAP Sensor and TB Sensor
Headlight ground
Replace the stock grounds too or add an additional wire from a grounding kit.
Battery to chassis
Chassis to transmission
If your kit allows for it, a cable from battery to the chassis ground point for the transmission.
