Default Spoon N1 axle-back: authentic or replica?

This came on an R shell I recently picked up @ Copart. Looks like a Spoon N1, but I have no clue whether its authentic or a replica. 2.5" outside diameter piping, 5" tip length with 2.75" opening, and a bolt hole for optional silencer. Fitment was spot on in relation to the bumper cover. No brands, badges, or serial #'s, but I've heard the earlier Spoons didn't have any of that either. Just wondering if its anything to be excited about. Any help from you Spoon aficionados will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

- Eric

Not much to report: 2000 FBP, unknown badge #. Theft recovery with no title (parts only). Missing all the usual goodies- swap, 5-lug, seats, badge, etc. Solid chassis with no rust or frame damage. Looks to have been a nice unit before the theft. Nice paint & body with no damage. Very clean interior with full dash, carpets, & paneling- basically everything minus the seats & armrest. Ready for everything to be bolted up and put back together. Bought it for eventual track use, but, with my dealer plate, I'll be able to drive it on the street occasionally, despite the title/registration issues.

I thought authentic Spoon N1 exhausts have the tsuru stamp on top of the pipe as well as stamped "SPOON SPORTS“ wording on it because I remember seeing someone putting up a set of authentic N1 axle back for sale on a local car forum here about 6 months ago.

^ exacty. Not certain how many 'gens' there are but old ones never had badges. Got mine back in 05 and no badge plaque tacked on. Should also have a donut gasket mate for the inlet side. I also think the newer ones have a different bracket design but dqmot. Shine that puppy up!

Authentic.

BTW, older ones didn't have any badging. Can't confirm for newer ones for DC2 though.

The only way to tell was by the measurements, quality of the materials and outstanding welding quality that the fake ones didn't have.

that muffler looks authentic!

i had a earlier gen 1 and the hole for the silencer and even the finish on the canister look legit.

the older gen 1 spoon n1 did NOT have a badge etc on it.

i think it was not until two years ago or so, where counterfeits where becoming a problem that spoon decided to badge their exhausts and place serial numbers on them.

i have the newer spoon dual n1 on my ap1 s2000 and can confirm the badges and serial numbers on there.

just my two cents
