Brake drums to disc conversion?
So I've been looking into converting my drums to discs but people say I need trailing arms. I have blox lca's already do I still need to buy trailing arms? Sorry for my lack in knowledge in that area. Also i want to replace my brake shoes anyone know what size are the brake drums for an eg sedan? I'm guessing the bigger option 7.87 x 1.38?
Yes your lcas will work with the same generation disk brake and trailing arm combo Don't forget the e brake cables either
As far as your brake shoe size. That I can't say without knowing your car or what set up you have in the rear, but why you asking if u interested in a disk brake upgrade? Hmmm

The trailing arms are the same, the problem is trying to get the bolts out that hold the spindles to the trailing arms, it's easier to just swap the whole thing.
I'm replacing my shoes today they're pretty bad. And I'm not converting to discs till I know what it is I need and what I'm doing lol.

Brake fade on the rear drums on a street car is not an issue for our cars
So I replaced my rear shoes. And now the e brake light is blinking and my pedal is really soft. My brake fluid is where it's supposed to be and there's no leaks. Also my e brake is not working I moved it to the drive way and it rolled off and almost hit the Lexus behind me... My fluid is black so Im going to replace it and bleed the system any ideas as to what's going on??
You either installed the parking brake assembly incorrectly, or you didn't adjust it. As for soft brakes, did you bleed afterwards? Did you do a proper bedding, in reverse?
You were driving the car, without doing the adjustment and reverse bedding...it's a 5 minute process. In what world did it seem like a good idea to leave out?
Noob world....give em time. They become pro's, they gotta learn from there mistakes, even if it involves getting into accidents and realizing that they should've bled the rear properly.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you have no clue how to reverse bed your brakes. After you've bled them, put the car in reverse and accelerate to 5 MPH. Slam on the brakes. Repeat. Repeat twice more, this time accelerating to 10 MPH. Your brakes are now properly bedded, and your parking brake is now properly adjusted. Like I said, it's a 5 minute process.
