Ok I've got some questions. I'm trying to put an 88 Rex dash and cluster I. My 91 hatch. Is the cluster a plug and play? Also it looks like the lower bracket on the console part of dash doesn't match up with mine. Anyone done tuis swap or is it a no go cuz 88 is totally diff than any other year?

 

No the cluster is not plug and play. You will need to do a little wiring. I have a 91 cluster in my 89 and I spliced the 91 cluster plugs onto my dash harness.

I also have a CRX dash in my hatch. There is a different bracket that mounts to the tunnel for the CRX's that you need. Good luck with it, it took me for forever to find one 5-6 years back when I did my swap

BTW - why not keep your 91 cluster? The 90-91 clusters and hoods look sooooooo much better (which is why I "upgraded" mine).

 

Ya I got the bracket and the dash fits great. I also have the 88 dash harness could I swap out my dash harness for the 88 one. I've heard that some things won't work tho. I know the fuse boxes are the same tho. And to answer your question about why I don't keep the 91 cluster it's because the car is gutted and the only dash I have is the 88 to put in it. I also tried the 91 cluster and cover on the 88 dash and it doesn't fit. No big surprise there.
