honda civic eg8 axel nut
I got a civic lx 4dr and Im trying to take off my axel nut cause my two studs broke on it and I want to change the hub but the axel nut wont budge a damn bit. I havent tried to sit the car on the wheels then try and crack the nut yet but before I do that is there any better way to do it besides cutting it?
...Did you unspike the axle nut first? There should be a little tab on the top of the nut that should have been spiked into the hub. If you didn't unspike the nut, you're just fighting against yourself.
If you unspiked the nut, then soak it in some WD40, get a breaker bar, put a cheater pipe on it, and get two of your fattest friends to stand on it.

That's so wild, I've yanked at least 3 axle nuts at the salvage yards with just my 4 foot 1/2" breaker bar and my 32mm socket without unspiking them and they have always just twisted right off with next to no effort.
Sorry you are having such a hard time with yours. That really sucks. Just about as bad as breaking strut and lower control arm bolts when trying to swap out the LCA's. That weekend sucked something fierce.

sometimes someone will have torqued the holy **** out of them before, and they can be a real bastard to get loose. I've run into a few like that, why are you putting the guy down? he's obviously unstaked the nut and tried all the normal ways to get it loose, without success, and you act like an *** when he asks for advice. This isn't GDD
OP get someone to press the brake pedal as hard as they can, put a long length of pipe over a good breaker bar, and jump on the bastard, sometimes thats the only way to get them loose, make sure you have the wheel on, and on the ground before you do this. I had one where I had to have a 300 pound friend stand on the pipe while I jumped on the other end, it took that much to break it loose

If you can drive it to any shop pay them 10 bucks to break it with a gun the tighten it back, should be able to break it when you get home then.
