D16y8 - admission of noobness and a pro-tip for others
So, I've posted a few threads about my issues. One about my O2 and the other about my idling issue.
I went through the steps for surging idle... Cleaned my IACV, checked for leaks... Nothing came up!
I finally did a hillbilly smoke test with my e-cig and noticed smoke coming out where it shouldn't... See, my car is a 2000 Acura EL with a non-matching d16y8... Blox intake manifold... It has a cruise control nipple. The vacuum diagram and the stock one for this car and year don't, as its electric cruise.
Anyway, long story short, I've spent 300 in parts and labour between this and the O2... Took my IACV off three times, cleaned it three times, and even tried a known good... To no avail.
It was the nipple, all along.
I've learned to diagnose, and diagnose properly, rather than replace. Noobs like me, heed this advice.
Still haven't solved the O2, but bet you if I keep going through the diagnosis steps I will.
Commence laughter.

Bahahaha ya. The thing is, two mechanics missed it too. I don't feel so bad, more just that it was so simple and I totally over thought it.
