2001 Honda Accord LX Sedan - radio and cigarette plug not working.
Hey there, this is my first post because I'm stumped on what to do, I've run into a big problem. So here we go..
Loved the radio in my accord, however I've been wanting something more modern to plug USB and aux into, so I bought one. Got home and started working on it with my buddy. Popped off the dash and all that jazz, took out the factory radio out and was getting ready to install the new one. Well, I ran into an issue.. apparently someone jerry-rigged the din cable and none of the colors were matching, so I couldn't clearly splice the new radio in. We figured we'd find which cable was the hot one going to the battery, so we got out the circuit tester and my buddy started poking around, well he found it.. Even though it was grounded and all, once he poked the hot wire with the circuit tester it sparked, flamed, smoked, and fizzed.
We figured that he blew a fuse - we reinstalled the factory radio and put everything back the way it was to see if it would work. Nope, it wouldn't neither would the cigarette plug. We looked up to see what fuses to replace, and we replaced them - also tested every fuse for current and they were all good.. visually inspected each one in both fuse boxes - nothing wrong with them.
So in short - is this a fuse problem, or a wire problem? I assumed if the wire burnt out, it would only affect the radio... I'm really stumped and would appreciate any help you guys can provide. Thanks.

do you have your constant AND switched power as well as ground hooked up? if indeed all your fuses pertaining to the radio are good having them 3 wires should light up your new headunit.
I know this sounds dumb too but did you turn on the units when they were wired in?
with the tester did you touch the constant power wire to one probe and the other probe to body ground?....

Pass side under dash fuse #9 20 amp is good/bad? Pull and verify.
As asked, the "constant" power and key on power come from the fuse I listed....WHT/GRN is constant the WHT/RED is "key on power.
They do sell these little radio plugs for installing an aftermarket radios into the factory plug
