Default JDM conversion or turbo?

I've recently received 5,000 from financial aid for the next two months... Those f*cking bastards were late in giving me my grants and loans!!! Anyways, I've always had my heart set up for these two items... what would you guys do? It all comes down to go vs. show, but I'd be equally happy getting both these new additions to my car. My car is a '01 GS-R with 30K on it. And so a turbo would completely wipe out 20K of warranty left. And I'm sure that in the long run a turbo would run more money. What would you guys do? And do you guys know of any distributor on the board that sells new JDM conversions with the HID's? And if so, do you guys know if I can replace the stock JDM bumper for the C-West? So opinions?

Oh, and when do I get to be a member.... instead of a stupid trial user...

save it for school
but if youre dead set on your car, id turbo the ****. get your self a drag kit (~2900 @import parts) some dyno tuning time and you should be good to go for ~3500. (you can get fancy boost & af gauges too)

Lol.. I was in the same boat a couple summers back. Had money saved up and guess what, I decided on getting the JDM front. Then in about 3 months my car got stolen. Should have gone turbo instead. Anyways, just remember that theives are more prone to go after your car with a JDM front. More flashy, plus you get pretty **** about where you park and all that. That's my experience.

well imo its what u likk. if your a speed driven guy get the turbo. But if u want chickks or just a nice car get the type r conversion. but theres alot of pros n cons. type r conversion = maybe stolen, jealous people, complements, etc . turbo = fast car, maybe wear ur motor out, maybe go through axles likk nothing. imo i think i would... actually i duno thats a tuff one. but what u get hope it turns out the best.

JDM front. I'm sure you wouldn't regret it when you see everyone breaking their necks looking at your car. You'll feel good about doing it. You should also be more careful too though about where it's parked and improve security.

I'm sure you won't regret a turbo kit either, especially when they see that fat front mount intercooler and every person you pass breaks their neck, not to mention the sweet sound of a turbo building boost then releasing excess air through the blow off valve, go turbo, ( for looks just go with a BOMEX or Wings West kit, whose gonna talk **** with what you'll have under the hood.)

Save it and wait for the next check to come in so you can get both! Also 5Gs will probably get you the jdm metal conversion with HIDs but you'll probably need more $$$$ for paint and bodywork if you plan on shaving moldings, emblems, etc.. but if you're dead set on spendin the cash i'd go for the turbo like a DRAG3 or GReddy, depending on how much you wanna boost. Good Luck in whatever you choose though!!!!

I would get the JDM conversion. I agree with the other people. People will be breakin their necks when they see that JDM conversion. Plus, turbo would cost u more money in the long run. Maintenence and all that ****. I dont know where your from but JDM conversion is hella rare where i live at. I dont know if u race all time. If u do and like fast cars, get turbo. If i were u i would save some money for some internal mods for ur engine to build it right for turbo.

Drag 3 You turn more heads when they see that big front mount intercooler and your boost building up then releasing through the bov pshhhhhh pshhhhhhh then you get way more attention than just a jdm front conversion. Go fast!!! Show later. All depends on you looks or speed. But my opinion turbo that shiet! More people dig front mount intercooler than a jdm conversion
