Hi,
I have been left stranded about 5 times and it's getting old like me. The car has 379,00 miles on it but runs like a top. I have just replaced the fuel pump for the second time in a year and have been told today by a very experienced garage service center owner that even without him looking at it it is the distributor which he says are notorious for this problem. He charged me $85.00 to tell me that. After installing the new fuel pump yesterday it cut off on me coming up to stop sign. That's a first. After sitting a while it did restart but still acts like its about to cut off sometimes so I keep the rpms up a bit coming to stop. Usually it just won't restart sometimes out of the blue. I would appreciate any input from you fellows, I don't have much money left and believe I probably just wasted my money on that pump. The relays and filter etc have been checked. I can't afford to dump this car and I like it. If you all think it is the distributor I was thinking of buying one for about 85.00 off of ebay..it is remanufactured. What do you think? I need help.
