Default Aftermarket Coilover Suggestion

I have owned a couple cars but this is my first project.
I have some parts coming and my next goal is to tackle the ride height but i havent done much research on coilovers for this car (1990 Honda Civic DX Hatchback btw)

Anyone got any good suggestions. I have read into D2, Tein, Raceland, but nothing is really sticking and suggestions on what to look into

Forget all the ones you have listed.

There are really only 2 good choices under $1k: Progress or Koni/GC

Use the search function to find more info on each one and to decide which is best for you.

just about everyone can vouch for Koni/GC, I've had Progress 350/350 for well over a year with no complaints at all.

One thing sux with koni and progress is that we cant adjust ride height.. and thats why most of people buy a coilover.

I don't know where you got your info, Progress makes coilovers, and Koni/GC is a strut and coilover sleeve setup that allows you to change ride height.

Lol personally changing ride height by lowering the spring is not an option. Having a spring moving everywhere when the car is lifted wont pass any car inspection lol.

what inspections do you have where they lift the car?

how else are you going to adjust ride height? ******* with preload only leads to problems, full coilovers are over OP's price range of $1k

more importantly WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING, the spring will be in the correct position doing its job as long as you're not ******* slammed.

but what do I know

Preloading a spring wont get you lower... loll with another coilover you should have a third ring that allow you to make the strut longer or shorter. THATS how to adjust a ride height.... getting your spring lower on your strut with koni or progress will get your damper to a wrong travel span or to simply no travel span if you go too low.. So if your spring rate is like 200-300 with koni and you slam it as ****, itll result to a shock body hit the shock head and boom damage to your damper. Thats my opinion. They are just not made to adjust ride height. Thats about the same as cutting your god damn oem springs...

Learn how suspension works.

Or you could just put helper springs in... that will keep the main spring seated when the suspension is at full droop.

I was going to say Progress CSIIs are the best bang for the buck performance wise, and I think most will agree. $605 shipped for adjustable drop coils with spring rates of your choosing.
