is there a preference for road racing...supercharger or turbo?
turbo has more power, but its not linear like a supercharger. youll go faster with the turbo, but might like the feel of the supercharger.
For Road Racing? Racing on roads...
3 turbos. Hide 2 of them in the glovebox.

your question was already answered, but "road race" to people around here (and most everywhere else) is on a race track, not public roads. just to help you out in future posts.

Your driving style may like one or the other, but generally speaking, a supercharger should be more driveable...that is, there's more useable power available throughout the rev range. A turbo is generally "peaky" and the power probably is all available at high engine speeds. You may experience turbo lag.
Supercharger should have a better throttle response. On a road course, I would think driveability is better than total hp...at least that's what I've heard from drivers (ie, comparison between the Jordan Peugeot 196 which had more hp than the Williams Renault FW18 but the FW18's Renault RS8 V10 was more tractable). Though in F1, chassis design plays a big role, in CART, there were a lot of Reynards in the late '90s, and Hondas generally did not have the most hp. Ford and maybe Mercedes in '97 had the most horsepower, but the Hondas were almost always had the best driveability, which was what the drivers supposedly like.
But having no experience whatsoever with a super- or turbocharger on a road course, my post is merely a guesstimate.

Oh, goodie - another person who thinks Chuckanut Drive is "Chuckanut International Raceway"...
Take the money you would spend and start entering autorcrosses with whatever car you own - minus the blower - and you will have WAY more fun and be WAY more safe than tearing around Mt. Baker. Go racing and you will know the truth, Grasshopper.
Be safe,
Kirk

get a big turbo and run 2 bar. that way, when you're coming out of a corner on mountain runs, you won't feel anything at first, and then the boost will hit and you'll understeer right off the road.
edit - I just noticed how appropriate your username is if you want to drive a boosted car on curvy mountain roads in WA where it rains all the time...lol
