Default bottom end vs top end work d16z6

hey guys. i've been searching for the last few days and i can't find the answer i'm looking for. I have a d16z6 that the PO had put some kinda mystery substance into the engine which ended up clogging the oil pickup and basically ruined the bearings. Didn't spin a bearing but it was pretty close. Waiting to hear back from the machine shop if the crank is still good. So my question is.

Should i bother boring out the block to 75.5 and putting in some high comp P29 pistons and putting the thing back together

or

just put the bottom end back together with new bearings and reuse the stock pistons and spend money on head work for the z6. I can't afford to do both and I don't want to go the turbo route due to class restrictions.

I use this car for hillclimbs and autocross.

it'l prolly be easier to get bottom end work done now, and do head work later when funds/desire is available, so you don't need to take the block out again. Plus, you're already paying labor to get the block redone. Might as well get it done with better parts.

that's kinda the way i was leaning. just figuring in the added cost of a tune due to the higher compression. i've got experience with subaru motors but pretty new to the honda stuff.

you could street tune it yourself if you've got the patience. Its probably not all that expensive if you use a cheaper computer chip that lets you tune it. There's free programs you can use
