Default Need some help/advice on brakes

Hey, Im seeking some help or advice to get the brakes on my accord fixed. My brake pedal sinks to the floor before it will stop the car. I looked online and found it is a potentially bad master cylinder. My question is could it be air in the lines? Is it worth trying to bleed the brakes before buying any parts? I talked to somebody that said it wont be air in the lines but i want some second opinions.

Also I saw you can use the parking brake and the brake pedal should be better, as a way to check the master cylinder but I found out that I have no stopping power at all with my parking brake. With it all the way up it wouldn't even slow the car at all. (I also have disc brakes all around) could this be the cable for the parking brake? Appreciate any help or opinions

if there was no air in the lines before there wont be now .. only other thing it could be is a leak so check the reservoir level ... if its not going down then the problem is the master cylinder

If anything a bad seal in the MC could allow air into the system. No amount of bleeding will fix this.
As Holmes stated, if there are no external leaks, then the MC is gone.
As for the parking brake. If the MC has been bad for a while the rear calipers may not have been able to properly adjust out, thus no hand brake.
Check that there is no slack in the cables and that the caliper parking brake lever rest against the pin(on the caliper) when the hand brake is down.

Damn, that is what i was hoping it wasnt! lol i guess ill have to take care of it cause the reservoir stays the same. my car actually came with brakes and rotors so im just going to replace all of it at the same time.

As for my handbrake there is some slack in the cables i tried tightening it but it i only had a 12mm socket and no wrench so i couldnt tightening it all the way but there is a small difference already lol. im going to take it to my work to tighten it all the way. When I pull my brake the driver side has more slack so where the cables meet it kind of goes more towards one side. Is this normal or not im not quite sure?
