Default R18 trans. filter size, want to use a Magnefine

Does anyone know if the trans filter is 3/8" in/out? I want to change mine to a Magnefine
but want to be certain I get the right one.

EDIT: This is for an auto transmission.

Been searching high and low and can't figure out if the piping to and from the filter is 5/16" or 3/8" ID...

Finally got around to update this.

The correct size Magnefine filter for the R18 is 3/8" inlet/outlet diameter.
Here are some pics and more info for anyone interested.

The Magnefine is about 1/2" longer than the OE strainer. I had to trim the feed hose to get it to fit correctly.

Make sure to get the real deal Aussie made Magnefine, not the Raybestos made in China crap you will see everywhere. Got mine here: http://www.emergingent.com/subpage1Magnefine.htm

The arrow in the pic shows the direction the ATF flows. I started the engine for a second and put a container at the end of the hoses to figure this out. This new filter is too big for the bracket by just a little. I ended up zip tying it shut.

It's a better filter that costs as much as the OE unit.

The Magnefine has kept the ATF really clean. I'm thinking a drain and fill every 20k will be fine.
