vibrant weld in bung hole size
dumb question but can anyone verify the hole size for vibrant aluminum weld fittings? they specify a flange OD with each fitting, but I don't know if thats the total OD of the fitting or if it is, indeed the OD of the stepped flange. Specifically the -10AN says it has a 1.125" OD and I'm about to send some drawings to get cut on the plasma table, but don't want to assume thats the right bore size. Unfortunately I don't have any fittings here yet to reference.
just to follow up on this.
after calling vibrant a few times and finally getting through to someone who could answer my questions, every measurement they gave me was wrong.
on the other hand, i pm'ed locash racing and had an accurate response within a couple hours. his prices are better than vibrants, he gives price breaks on large quantity orders, and he makes the fittings in house aka no overseas ****.

I would just like to add that those bungs are total ****, the clearances as always different, I used them on production pieces and I had to resort to having a giant custom tap made to chase the flange after welding them even from the inside, then one day they just changed the thread enough to where my tap wouldn't work, thus I have over $1000 in product just sitting in a box and Vibrant wouldn't do a thing about it. I now have them machined myself and they use a custom go-no-go gauge to prevent this from happening. I advise everyone to stay away from them.
i always check mine with the o2 sensor before doing anything, then sand the contour into the bung, check again, then when i weld it, i use a stainless steel bolt with high temp grease, and after each short pass, i drive the bolt up and down a few times

to answer the OP, the VP#11153 -10an FLANGE od is 1.125". the STEP od is 1".
aaron
I had a real tap made for the large thread ones, then after having to hand tap over 30 of those for our production run, one day the whole thread changed and 8 units of my product were instantly fucked. I now make my own in the USA where the machinists check their work.
