I have a 99 Honda accord ex with a 3.0 v-tec motor and it has a problem I think it might have something to do with the security system, my scanner wont pick up any codes when its not starting, the key will flash on dashboard. when its running my scanner reads there are no dtc codes. I replaced the map sensor , and when its running it surges but if you apply the gas pedal aggressively its fine until higher rpms. could I get some help with this problem.

 

Sounds like something is wrong with the immobilizer. You can either go to the dealer or find a reputable honda repair shop.

 

are you talking about the ecm?

 

the reason I thought it was something with the security was because it wil start but shut off immediately when it wont start. so I guess if it is the immobilizer its kinda the same thing cause don't you use the immobilizer to reprogram the keys.
