Alternator Pivot Bolt Loose
1998 Civic EX stock D16Y8, Manual Trans.
While I was doing an oil change and PCV valve replacement I notice my alternator's pivot bolt was loose and had about a 1/4" to 1/2" of play side to side. Is this normal?
My first instinct was to tighten it, but I didn't because I didn't want to create undue tension or drag. Please respond.

Hmm, bolts vibrating lose on their own, nope that is normal for a Civic. Especially one of such vintage. Tighten to spec and move on, if it happens again maybe consider using locktite on it if it bugs you that much. Just be away that this could make things harder to pull apart in the future.
