Default shifting problems

when I am driving my 92 civic sedan with a h22a1 swap. It will shift fine but when I try to go from fourth to fifth it sometimes grinds. Is this normal? is there any way to fix this problem or help it? Also if I really get on it from a stop the shift to 2nd is good and the same for 3rd but when I try 4th sometime it goes into second, What would cause this? And is there Anything that can be done to reduce it. Any help would be great thanks

For the 5th gear, might just be a bad syncro.

For the other issue, might need to adjust the alignment of the cable brackets a bit. There have been many people who didn't like the cables, and the most common "fix" is to use heavy zip ties every few inches to keep the cables stiffer and aligned better.

if ur using the prelude tranny its a common defect with the 5th gear selector hub assembly .. just wait briefly before going into 5th and it wont grind
