I have been researching on the internet for information about
porous casting(s). A number of times I have been directed to this site,
so I thought I would register here and ask some questions.

I own a 2002 Accord which is likely the victim of a porous casting.
It has consumed oil since the day it same off the dealers lot.
When I change the coolant, the old stuff is a greenish-brownish color.
The coolant reservoir bottle collects very dark and thick.....stuff.
I have had the vehicle examined by a Honda dealer and an independent
shop: both times the results were "probably a porous cast".
(with the additional: "this model year was well known for that")

My question: What is going to happen to this vehicle?
Will I be able to drive it forever?
Do I just need to change the coolant frequently?
Will it explode some day while waiting for a stop light?

It would be a shame to have to scrap it or drop a new engine
into it; everything else about the vehicle is excellent.

Very interested in your opinions.
