Crx 1990 died while driving
My 1990 CRX which is at about 199k on the dash died on me the other day while driving
I had just made a 70 mile trip to milwaukee and back and parked the car for a few hours, when i got in to leave i got about a mile away when it kinda died and came back then it just died and left me coasting
fuel pump works
has a new distributor and spark plugs (havent checked the spark yet though)
It isnt the alternator i already checked that
seems kinda of weird that a car that was just running great suddenly dies like that
my brother in law thinks maybe the fuel filter needs to be replaced but i think that is fairly unlikely
Im reading alot about a relay that goes bad and might be the cause
the cars cranks over very well but doesnt start

it almost seems like its distributor related, after poking at the wiring harness going into the distributor the engine started up, so i started driving the car.
It died on my lunch break and a quick jiggle of every wire on the distributor and it started up again

Take the valve cover off and the upper timing belt cover.
Give the timing belt a tug and see if it is broken.
Check for spark. Ignitor modules have a funny death that sounds like how yours died.

new distributors arnt always good. most are refurbished. either the engine harness is old and the wires are pulling out, or the ignitior/coil pack in the distributor is on the way out. sounds like a distrib problem though
car has died 4 times now and each time after pulling and moving the wires on the dizzy, the car would start up like nothing happened
But i cant replicate the problem pulling and jiggling the wires with the engine running
