94 Civic VTi. Factory UKDM B16 EG6, Milano Red
Hello from England!
Here's my progress thread on my EG6. It's a really rare car over here in England, I doubt there's more than 2-300 UKDM versions left in the entire country. infact it wouldn't surprise me if there's more JDM import SiRs or even EK9 CTRs over here and neither of them were even sold over here.
Picked it up on the 25th of Jan this year, this thread is a compilation of all my posts in my build thread on Civiclife, a UK forum so apologies if any terminology is UK spec
It's not exactly a build, more of a clean, rare car with a few goodies fitted. Trying to keep it 90s style with a bit of a Kanjo influence...
Finally got it! Wanted one for years. After being let down with a green EG6 complete impulse buy on Honda Parts For Sale on FB I was properly on the hunt for one. Decided it had to be a genuine EG6 as I can't insure an engine swap and they have the best spec - rear discs, fold flat interior etc.
Link to the full story of picking it up including driving halfway down the country for a JDM DC2R:

Summary pics:
About 5 minutes before the keys were handed to me:

Got it home:

Then drove around 500 miles in it the day I picked it up, to go pick up a JDM 96 spec DC2R that my mate bought. The EG6 had been off the roads for 3 years before this so I took plenty of tools in case of any issues, but it was the DC2 that broke on the way home! Gear linkage bush fell apart just after we picked it up but I walked down the road to find it and my mate refitted it.

My fleet:

Coilovers!

The car has some kinda wiring fault which means I have no headlight on the passenger side so I couldn't make these work:

OEM untouched bay:

After I got it detailed and got rid of the thin layer of overspray that had settled over the whole car. It looked red again!

Fold flat interior although I need a black boot box as the one I picked up is grey.

Few more from the day after the detail:

Saw this pic which decided my wheel choice tbh.

So I got offered the roughest set of GR-Ns you've ever seen and refurbed them myself

Filed the kerb marks out:

Got them shot blasted. Primed them, painted them and lacquered them. Used cheap aerosols.

Spent 2 days doing this. Put over 200 miles on may car sat still driving in 5th. Removed a chunk of skin when i slipped and hit the spokes...

From this to this! In a week of tackling them each night ofter work plus a weekend. Cost me around £100 in materials and the shot blasting service. Well impressed considering I've never refurbed wheels before and just used my parents garage.

Absolutely love it and just need to fix a few consumable parts now such as bushes, an engine mount etc. Wanted an EG for years so its awesome to finally have proper EG6 VTi. Wanted a black one really but the red really suits it so I'm happy.
Btw it has grey side rubbing strips, SiR style, and SiR spoiler, and a JDM tailgate, all of which were on it when I got it.
Really need to get rid of the exhaust hahaha

Thanks, and I can't wait to get the ATR back on the road! It's been sat for 6-7 months now needing lots of love, but I really really miss it and it should be back on the road again in a couple of months
Thanks
I will be doing minor breathing mods but nothing major as the car is so rare and I want to keep it fairly original - it's still pokey enough although it's never gonna win many drag races.
Had this on a dyno last week and it made 146bhp and 108lbft peak, so a little down on standard but not too bad. The alignment is massively out so that caused extra drag on the rollers. Plus it needs a service and has that stupid exhaust. It'll be going back on the rollers once all that is done

Few more pics for you guys as I've not been on here much for a while.

Got myself a slightly special seat, apologies for the super crap pic!

It's a Recaro SP-JJ and I'm struggling to find info on it. It's basically the same as an Accord Type-R seat but with the mental pink and purple trim and no Alcantara. I'm told there were 5 of these seats made and 4 of them make up 2 pairs which are in Porsche concept cars and a single one, which is mine. There were also another 50 sets that are identical to these but were fitted to Subarus and have Prodrive stitched into them. It also has a little electric motor which raises and lowers the seat, we hooked this up to a battery and were impressed to find that it works perfectly! So I'm gonna hook a feed up to it and hopefully have an electric Recaro in my EG! I know it's very marmite as it's from a different era to that of the car and obviously it has mental colours, but I really like it and think it looks kinda street race ish having a mismatched interior lol. Mega comfy too.
Also fitted a few new parts. The clutch shat itself so got an Exedy OEM replacement and Fidanza 3.6kg flywheel, seems more responsive at lower RPMs now. Tegiwa carbon intake, basically a J's racing replica. Very good quality though and sounds amazing.
Next on the list is DC2 Type-R subframe, steering rack, ARBs, adjustable camber and toe arms. This will all be shotblasted, painted and poly bushed before it gets fitted. Then it's just a case of getting the brakes sorted, maybe an EK9/MB6 1" MC and servo too. Then it can go on track!
