Default Brakes wont bleed fluid

I tried bleeding once I replaced a brake hose and passenger wheel cylinder. Then my front drivers side caliper began to leak from the piston! I replaced the caliper. Went back to bleeding and nothing I don't think I even got air is passing in the system now. At first i had a couple of bubbles and now nothing . What do you guys think it is? Master cylinder or maybe prop valve? I belive the other caliper and drum bled well maybe its just serious air in the line. By Rookie mistake i attempted to bleed with the car on and by mistake told my assistant to Pump the brakes. Instead of following this procedure

Fill M/C leave un capped
Pump brakes
Hold down the pedal
Open bleeder screw
RR
LF
LR
RF
One at a time constantly refilling and leave cap off and engine off . Did i mess something up by not following procedure?

Also, once i opened the rear wheel cylinder it tried suckung fluid up instead of purging it out. Sorry for spelling and grammar oopsies.
Because of the rookie mistake i may need to bench bleed the master cylinder what do yall think??
