hey there. i'm writing on the forum i'm new to the site. I have been going through several sites to find info and can't quite get what i'm looking for. i thought i'd start a new thread here and give and recieve info on my project. i'd love to have any information as i may need it on getting this thing back together! well story is my wife got a 1992 honda accord lx back in 2012. it drove fine for a long time. the day she got it her friend put in a stereo deck and just taped the wires. not all ofthem either. we drove the car for about two years with just random repairs and tune ups. the car doesn't leak any oil its a percectly good car. i came around the corner one night and the stereo deck fell and i didnt pick it up thinking it would be ok. i come out and the car smells like burnt plastic. ong story short i tore it down since it was running funny i figured there was a short in the wire harness from the deck to under hood fuse box. sure enough it ran up the harness up a foot behind dsh and i amd still checking to see how far under the dash it went. i need help at this point to get the rest of the stuff of of the dash. i will post pictures soon! i'm at the point to where i need to take the components off of the firewall inside. the dash is removed all nuts are removed from ac and heating core. do i need to remove the driver and passenger seat to take out that vent that runs under them or can i just leave that and take off the ac and heater core and how woul di go about doing either? the damage just looks to be right there so i plan on replacing the under dash hanress and repairing the one inside the car since the clip is still ok on it just needs the shorts fixed. i plan to use automotive wire with solder
