The tail end of the Summit roll call thread has a bunch of weather posts. It's going to be REALLY hard to get Hoosiers up to temp.

One thing says it all: Wind chill = 11°

Oh...****.
I'd better get a hotel then

Edit: Actually, can anybody recommend a hotel in the area that I can make reservations with? Just the cheapest hotel around....

Side note, if any novices are thinking of skipping the event b/c of the weather please email me, I'll reimburse you for your spot. I think there are some logistics we'd need to straighten out with Elyse also.

Does this mean I have to find my windshield wipers?

"Ok class, today we learn how to install wipers and snow tires."

Don't forget that you guys might need to get up and start your cars during the night if you're not running any anti-freeze.

Now they're saying partly couldy and 43° both days. I think it's safe to saying they don't know what the hell they're talking about.

Good POint -

I am leaving Friday morning, so, I will not be available until you all see me.

Stop complaining people! It wouldn't be Summit Point in November without cold, wind and inclement weather.

Car Guy's November event historically has snow on the ground for it . . .

I'm afraid to check the weather for the NASA event at Lime Rock on November 11th. I've already run Lime Rock in the snow once this year back in March. Maybe I'll go get Blizzaks mounted on my track wheels....

The in style thing was not being serious. I don't know of a tire that I would seriously call style.

Forgive me OH great ONE if I worded it wrong.

Just eat MEat.

Shultz and I were at the Point a few years ago in November. Similar conditions: 40ish, windy as hell, a flake or two of snow. He was actually faster on busted Potenza 730s than he was on Hoosiers. I was faster on RE71s than I was on Kumhos.

One thing says it all: Wind chill = 11°
That will leave a mark (or several). I honestly don't know which is worse, that or a heat index at CMP of 110+.

Well maybe in the tent later that night

I'd think you would want to tape up or partially tape up brake ducts. My oft quoted experience comes to mind at VIR a couple years ago where 6 or 7 folks cracked all the way through the outside rotors all were running ducts into the hats. This was in 40 degree temps (IIRC it was a low that day of 41 deg).

FWIW and at the end of the day, I don't have a clue.
