Default please help!!! 96 Honda Accord ex vtec 2.2L

I'm a student and I recently purchased my first car from a private seller on Craigslist. When I bought it the check engine light was on but the code (p0118) read for a coolant temperature sensor which is 20 bucks brand new. I replaced the part thinking I was about to get my car on the road but the light was still on. So I replaced the temperature switch thinking that would help. I bought an computer from a u pull it place and still no luck. I don't no what else to do someone please help!!

There are two temp sensors, which one did you replace?

There is the temp gauge sensor in the car and is not connected to the ECU. One wire small all metal construction.

And there is the TW thermo sensor for the ECU which is a two wire unit with a large plastic connector.

If you did not replace the TW sensor then you will still have the P0118 code.
If you did replace the TW sensor, then you will need to check the connector for corrosion, and the wire harness for damage.

And don't confuse the ECT two wire sensor with one of the two wire cooling fan switches. The ECT is on the end of the head, under the dist.
