Pulled it off looks pretty easy to figure out . The spring steel that should help the latch close will not work once it is hooked back onto the piece that is hidden inside the deck.
Anybody ever figure this issue out?
What is the purpose of the clip that is on the rod inside the deck lid?
Its not spring loaded or is it and my springs worn out ,couldn't find anything in Hanes that was help full.

 

Go to a junkyard and buy a new latch.

You can adjust the trunk tension of the trunk rods.

 

Still doesn't explain what the piece behind the latch inside the deck is for or if it is or was spring loaded. Got the latch to work as long as I don't put that hidden pc back in the hole

 

Installed one from Junkyard and found the hidden rod is to the key. Installed it and can onlt get it to work from the Int. Latch doesn't work from key lock .
