so what does your car look like? what's your style? I could care less about what other people do to their car. I might think it's clean, I might think it looks ghey. What matters is that I do what I like to my car. I have CLEAR bumper lights and AMBER sidemarkers. I don't care what other people think about that, I like it.

hey we can all have our opinions on cars. its like clothes you grow out of some things. some people might still think parachute pants are the best thing since sliced bread and others might think they are ugly as ****. 2 years ago i wanted altezzas and a big *** body kit. now i grew out of that and am fine with my lip kit. to each is own..i mean personally i like clean looking cars and kits that flow with the lines of the car. although i prefer these looking cars that doenst mean that i dont like some cars with body kits and wild paint jobs. to each is own....

 

The way I see it, for me going JDM, is I have always been into cars, and I can't think of building my car any other way now. Function should be first priority, not looks. It just so happens that the JDM look is waay more cleaner than our stock. ANd its still stock to a Japanese person! Hehe, I bet you they wouldnt trade their interior pieces for ours! They have Momo steering wheels, and Recaro seats...that come standard on their upper models! And we are stuck with the cheap sh*t. Oh well, at least my car won't lose much value if I ever decide to sell it...and I won't have to worry about major bodywork to convert it back to stock from those crazy conversions and wide-bodies. Who wants to buy a car full of that crap? Barely anyone. Yeah JDM is a trend right now, but who cares? Its like getting mad at people for drag racing their Honda's period. WHat about those people who been doing it since we were lil kids? They are probably impressed at how big it has gotten. If its a good thing, it will eventually become mainstream. Goes for everything. (look at how popular LS/B20-Vtec swaps have become. Because its ridiculously cheaper than a TypeR and it spanks them left and right!)

 

i have a type r with some jdm chit in it. it was original 2 years ago. now i c so many type r wannabes and so forth its killing the scene for me. and can u guess how many times people ask me if its a real type r. there was this one time, i was in a parking lot at the supermarket, and this guy comes up to me and asks "is that a real type r?". i said "yea, wut kind of ride u got?" "jdm ek9 with mugen rims." "is it right hand drive?" "no" "then wuts so jdm about it?" "i have a bunch of jdm stuff." man, i got so annoyed by him. he didnt even know wut JDM meant. and when i posted this thread i ddint mean to offend ne one. i was just simply sharing my opinion.

see dont get me wrong about this whole scene? i love this scene. i think its great that it brings every kind of people of every race together in some way. i think thats the cool part about it. im glad some muscle car lovers at least understand and like imports as much as they do domestic. but JDM is so played out. and yet people still talk to me like it just happened yesterday. and people dont know wut theyre talking about. y????

This is just my opinion.. but i dont think anyone really gives a **** what you think about JDM.. If you dont like it then dont do it.. but dont complain about it.. Go jump on the "lets hate JDM bandwagon" everyone!!!

i think it is i personal don't get why people want to make there cars look like a typr r thats like me making a dx into an si thats lame. but some jdm cars are really clean looking and i like them.

 

i don't care whether you wanna call your car jdm or not...i do think that cars that have all the "Jdm" performance parts in it, that are not put to use, SUCK! i think it's your car, do what you want to do with it. Don't tell me you got a b18c5, Apexi suspension, Mugen Strut bars and you don't even get the dirty at the local autocross events, telling me it's STRICTLY a show car.

I think people like that kinda' watered down the whole scene for me. Not using a car to it's fullest potential SUCKS!

 

phoenixR- Here- since you feel so strongly take a stand and rid your car of the "JDM chit" you have. Maybe that will make you feel better and just like you having JDM parts affects no one but you.
I have nothing against "ricers" thats their thing, I do prefer OEM Parts, be it JDM or not. It does seem that most parts that are considered "JDM" have much more practical usage and improvement than "Ricey" parts have. I like how someone put it that in Japan they get the nice stuff. Think of it as USDM market being able to upgrade And you know what else is getting played out? People starting comments and topics about how JDM is "rice" and is all "played out".

i like things that the mass public CANT get there hands on. be it JDM USDM EURODM CANADIAN ECT .. for some reason those things im atracted to even if most people think its ugly i have a custom mounted PS2 the mount is a one of a kind built by some friends of mine .. ive never even seen that kinda thing in any car(the way i have it mounted that is) .. but i can go from things like that to JDM wheels i have.. limitied addition volk wheels .. very few sets made.. anyone can get a "type R" shift **** or chit like that .. but its the little hard to find things i like

i seriously this that it is stupid and getting to the point where people, even some friends of mine which will buy something because its "jdm".... i really hate that. if it serves a function then sure, but if you buy something because its jdm that is just plain stupid. about the jdm trend being around everywhere, its mainly on the boards since there are still large amount of show ****** prowling the streets. if everyone was into "jdm" i wouldn't mind so i wouldn't have to look at gawdy looking cars that look nothing like what they are supposed to look like.
