Having Trouble picking a car
So, I have a 1991 honda civic DX with 90k miles (runs like a dream btw). I have some acquaintances that own a car lot. They have a 1999 or 2000 prelude with 150k miles with a stage 3 racing clutch. I want something to go fast which my little 1.5L Will not do lol. but it also does get 27mpg city, which is awesome, vs EPA. est. 18 city for the lude. What do you guys think.
The civic has had 3 owners including myself, 1 owner who has it since 92. so its a pretty solid car. HELP!

Are you just asking if you should get this car, or are there a few cars to choose from?
A Prelude is going to be much different than a Civic, one is a base model econo car, one is a higher end (for the manufacturer) sports car. The Prelude is more comfy, has more amenities, and has more power and better handling. Yes the fuel mileage is not as good, and it does need premium gas, but those are the things you have to live with.
If you drive well, you can see much better fuel mileage than 18MPG. I think my 93 was getting around 28 hwy and 23-24 city/ mixed on a stock H22, when I wasn't ripping VTEC all the time.
I would be leery of a stage 3 clutch on a stock car though, why did someone want such a grabby clutch on there? Are there any other mods, and has the car been beaten on, or modded and returned to "stock"?

honestly its really your decision to make, if it were me.. i'd be keeping that civic just because it ran like a dream and only has 90k on it... seems to me as long as you upkeep it should last you a long time.. plus you should be getting way better mileage than just 28mpg.. every stock civic i owned got 35 or better..
why not just put a little money into the civic? fresh paint nice wheels a decent drop. and just go for upgrades such as CAI,IM,EX

i can argree with the guys on their opinions, a prelude has it luxuries but with the price to pay. If you're looking to toy around with something different then by all means IMO get the lude, but keep the civic. Ive always owned Integra's (DC2), i recently got my first lude, i gotta say it kinda speaks for its self.
