d16y7 head on d15b bottom does it fit ?
Have a d16y7 head from my old civic that some guy wants to buy off me to put his d15b block will it fit ? I don't want to sell him something wrong.
thanks
thanks
since the y7 head is the same casting as the y8, my guess is yes. http://www.d-series.org/forums/engin...2-y8-head.html
i guess the important question is what d15b? vtec, non, etc

Probably not. I know the Y8 and the B7 have different studs at least for one corner. I was under the impression the jdm D15B is more like the B2 and B7 as far as the block is concerned.
To get ARP's for a Y8 mini me build you have to get a hybrid stud set, one stud is the Y8 stud (for the one corner) while the rest is the B7 studs.
The ARP catalog and site might provide a better insight.

Yah that was my feeling, I think he just needs a head in a hurry as he mentioned his hg blew not worth it from a financial perspective.
Thanks.
From the FAQ:
So you need B7/8 bolts with one Y7/Y8 bolt like I said.
What I'm not 100 percent sure of though is the D15B bolts, are they the same size as the B2/B7/B8 bolts?
1) You can just use a set of D15B7/8 or D16Y7/8 headbolts
- WRONG, Because of the design of the Y8 head, the corner closest to the Vtec Solenoid isn't raised on the Y8 head, so that corner requires a Y7/Y8 Headbolt/stud.
