Default B18 EJ civic coupe build thread!!

I really want to throw this altogether for people who end up have the same wiring disasters as I am having... Anyways plenty of body pics now for the motor work and overall transformation of the car!

Yeah bought it like this...some rando motor not even bolted in!

That was 2008... now in 2014 finally getting around to dropping a motor in my first paint job/complete build

96' B18b JDM (not by choice haha) from HMOTORs online. Amazing motor but oh wait the wiring harness is all backwards!!! Had to buy a stock d series harness from junkyard did the trick...

Time to drop a new clutch in it, plugs are already NGK and look flawless so left them alone. All sensors on the motor look perfect as well!

Old clutch vs. new one Stage 2 XTD brand. I looked them up before I bought them and found out they were pretty good.

I spent quite a bit on motor plus shipping but wow was it worth it, motor looks brand new, tore into a little and found top end internals look flawless! Better yet, didn't even have to refinish the valve cover...

Time to drop it in, always helps to have friends ready..

This was single-handily keeping my car from starting! Thank you so much bks84 you have no Idea how long my car has not even been trying to start! Moral of the story, even "extra" plugs like I thought could be keeping a car from starting!!

Okay replaced the plugs with NGK Iridiums gapped at .44. Replaced the fuel pump with a Walbro 255!

Car starts almost everytime but will only rev to 2,500 rpms and redlines somehow.

Its not the Ecu, I have two and they both do it. Cruise control light is on and I have no idea why! I don't even have the controls for the cruise control. Could this be the cause? Or vacuum problem?

Here are the lines

And the one on the back of the intake mani

Got the vacuum lines squared away, had to use the B18B vacuum diagram and finally started working right!

Wrong Map sensor plug-in was causing car to die when throttle open... Car starts everytime now and runs! Pics/ vids coming tomorrow have to get brakes working!

Running! Started with 8 engine codes now down to three! Haha I guess thats a start. Codes 7 TPS Sensor, code 15 ignition output signal, and the Intake air temp sensor which I don't even have hooked up yet cause the intake I got doesn't have the hole. Is that normal??

Plasti-dipd the grills today, cause I plan on adding foglights and turbo when the cars running right

ANDDDDD......
