Default could be an oil leak?

Hey tech geniuses, I need some assistance. Unfortunately I don't know enough about cars to diagnose problems myself but I'm hoping that someone may be able to make a suggestion.

I seem to have a leak somewhere in my engine. I carried my 2000 Honda Accord into a mechanic recently and he said that it looks like oil may be leaking into the coils. He wants to charge $500 to find the source of the leak and if the coils are bad he'll charge to order the parts and include labor.

There are usually small quarter/half dollar sized pools of oil in my driveway every morning, while the car is sitting there overnight so I don't doubt the mechanic, just wanted to know If there is anything I can do myself so I can know for sure its worth spending upwards of $500 or even finding and fixing the leak all together.

Just me but that looks more like a coolant leak than an oil leak?

Doesnt look like oil to me either. Do you notice your oil level dropping. check your oil level, if its super low then high probability its oil, if not to see if your losing oil then drive for a few days and if you level drops then your either A. leaking or B. its buring. Just based on the picture though i dont see where oil would be coming out of. your power steering reservoir is that container with the red lid see if you see a leaking point out of anything around that.

The surface looks rusty. Could be water or some sort of power steering or hydraulic fluid. I know they can remove the paint. Could be creating a rust issue. What color is the oil on the driveway? $500. No. Youre a wise man for not allowing that. Find a better honda mech

I don't think its power steering fluid but the car is stuttering when I drive now. When I reverse out of the driveway and then put it into drive, the car lurches forward. When I'm driving, anytime I stop and then accelerate it feels as if the car doesnt want to move. The engine revs when I give it gas but it doesnt actually accelerate until the gauge hits like 10-15 mph.

With the car driving the way it is, I thought it might be something to do with the transmission fluid but every time I've checked it over the past few days, theres fluid in the reservoir, so im guessing the transmission fluid isnt leaking either.

As for the oil in my driveway, Its brown. It isnt that bright golden brown like it should be but it isnt really dark or black either.

EDIT: By the way, thank you gentlemen for your assistance. I am by no means good with cars, but everything you've said so far is helping me become more knowledgeable about the subject. I really do appreciate all of the help.

not a problem man. Well for the lurching you may have an issue with one of the solenoids on the tranny or even the fluid level itself. That may take some diagnosing. Possibly even an issue with the torque converter. There is no reservoir persay but a dipstick, check it while its hot and while its running. Pull your engine oil dipstick out and see if the oil matches the oil on the driveway
