Hey...I was jut wondering something...I want to boost bad!!! I've got a '97 GSR engine a/ 87k miles, type r internals, valves, valve springs, g-force ecu, ITR cams, AEM cam gears and pulley, header, intake manifold, etc....I was wondering if I could sell this...make some decent money...and buy a LS motor...drop in some low comp pistons...reinforce block...blah blah blah all that good stuff...and turbo that bih....and if it'd be worth it? I know some people have turbo LS...and I really wanna go turbo...hit me back

wow ur post confused me. i would say if you have the money turbo ur gsr. but i understand if thats not an option. I dont think by selling ur engine u will get enough money to buy a ls engine and a turbo kit. So i think your best bet would be saving ur money and buy the maxrev kit for example, HONDSAVER is doing a groupbuy on them. Sorry if this didnt help.

 

basically I'm just asking whether it'd be beneficial to swap out my (semi-built?) GSR motor for a turbo ls...tell me what ur confused about and I'll try to make it understandable

 

definitely worth it. dont let people discourage you from doing so.

 

Keep and build the GSR. Why do you want an LS motor when you already have a gsr? You can put low compression pistons in the gsr also. If you ever do get a ls motor, i'd be interested in your gsr block.

 

I'll trade you... My LS motor for your GSR.

Why not just Supercharge your GS-R? Or you can just Turbo it like an LS.

With the SAME amount of Boost, GS-R will be faster AND put out more Power than an LS turbo!!

what I'm sayin is I don't have the money to turbo the gsr....so should I sell it...buy an LS engine...have money left over and use that to turbo it? Supercharging doesn't appeal to me one bit...vortech supercharged GSR ran a 14.9 in Honda tuning Bah! (I know I know...it had big wheels, sound system, etc.)

 

no sense putting an ls motor in a gsr, that dumb. just find a stock gsr motor and turbo that.

keep your motor, a properly tuned c1 runnin the same boost as an ls will murder it no questions asked.

 

well then...anyone have a turbo kit for b-series for sale? TenaciousC whats up...I've seen you on TR.com...you had turbo LS right?

 

makes sense ...sell the gsr and make sure u are patient and get top doller!!!! then be patient again and find a nice nice deal on an ls engine(sellin or keepin ur tranny ?if so u will need one of those too and ecu) ive seen ls swaps for about 1000-1400 complete then u will have money to start to buy your turbo system it can be done easy ...u can prolly get 3 g's or more if u sell your motor(with all those parts prolly even more than that or just part it out)

 

heres waht u do.... swap out the gsr... sell it to me.... then do whatever u want

 

Theres a groupbuy for Maxrev kits on this site. Save some money and turbo your GSR. Thats just an opinion. Either way you go its going to either take a lot of time or money.

If you're willing to sell your motor to get an LS engine... Why don't you sell your GS-R and get an LS integra and turbo that?

 

how bout you just sell the stuff in the engine and put the stock parts back in..then with that money use it towards a turbo kit for the GSR engine...then when you can swap in an LS tranny and youre set.

 

lol don't worry about getting me confused....I've debated this for sooo long now...even before I had my integra I was lookin at Drag Gen III kits for it and prices and boost-precautions...so I guess I'm kinda.."well educated" on the basics of turbos and their necessary parts

hmmmmmm why don't you sell your mods in the gsr then use that left over money and turbo it?? If you need more boost then just build the block with lower compression piston, sleeves, blah blah. I don't see why you would want to sell your gsr block and buy a ls block then turbo that. Either way your saying your going to build that ls block also so why not start with the gsr block then??? Or just sell your gsr (car) and buy an ls (car) then turbo it. Ummm these are my suggestion hope i didn't get you more confuse lol.

why dont you just keep the gsr motor that you have and turbo that . save up the money if you have to . no point in taking out a modified gsr for a stock LS . keep it .
