#ProjectErika--Sleeper98GSR's 99 coupe build
Got out of the game for 10 years after my GSR was stolen. Came back because I needed a cheap beater and had the skills to now start from scratch.
This is a 1999 Civic HX coupe that I purchased as a shell. Did have some stuff going for it though at least...like Si brakes all around, zero rust, and fairly low miles on the shell. Got her home and started the process.
Scored a Y7 engine and Y8 trans for CHEAP (stop gaps for now) and got her driving. Slapped some tags on her and immediately took her on a roadtrip to NJ. Averaged 39.7 MPG, a good start to the theme of the build.
I will be focusing on economy and looks more than speed. Everything I do will hopefully have a positive effect on economy. Not looking to shatter any D-Series power records, but wouldn't mind a couple economy ones.
The go:
Y7 motor (will be replaced with a D15B DualV)
Y8 trans (will be replaced with a HX trans at a minimum)
The show:
Black housing headlights
Carbon hood
The stop:
Si brakes all around
The dance:
Tein S-techs with Kybs (struts will be replaced with ITR units)
Steelies with snows (winter)
HX wheels with low-rolling resistance rubber (summer)
