i have a 2000 civic ex D8 engine and I'm trying to figure out what exhaust i need but i also need a new cat. (I'm also going to replace headers) I'm on a budget otherwise i would buy a complete kit. what brands can i put together for each component? what i mean is do they all use the same metrics? are they all the same size so that they fit flush on my car? should i use the magnaflow catalytic converter/header combo? if i use that can i still throw any catback exhaust on there?

 

As long as they are made for your model and are 'direct fit', yes.
If they are generic at all, expect to weld or take it to an exhaust shop.
