no. iacv is located on plenum with 2 10mm bolts. easy smeasy. even with my f22b2 swapped civic I was able to wrench the iacv off.

No you do not need to remove the tb to access the IACV. I just used a box end wrench to undo the two bolts. Just make sure you are square to the bolt with the box end so you get a good bite on the bolts. They are a little stubborn initially. There's also videos of it on youtube as well. Gl

use a combo (open/box end) wrench instead of a ratchet.

My gearwrench came in real handy when I did mine.

^ what they said. I used flex head gear wrenches on mine and it was simple, A mirror from the dollar store helped see exactly where the bolt head was and lining up the holes during re-install.

Removal of the short hose is the only difficult part.

TB isn't necessary to remove but it did help me remove and re-install the IACV a lot easier multiple times . Little bit more room, plus I was cleaning my TB anyway.

tb removal isnt hard just make sure to have a gasket ready as the old one will likely tear

Depends on were you place the wrench and were you are standing.....

Easy way to remember is when you are facing the top of the bolt head;
Righty = tighty
Lefty = loosy.

I have no problem in my area. may be different in yours. just like craftsman there is no questions asked. if its broke they replace it either with new or refurbished. but for snap-on, that's on the truck and for craftsman at sears. I have only bought snap-on tools off the truck, never in a store so that may be the difference.

got the pcv and gromet today. started snowing tho, lol. love colorado.

when i get a new belt for the ac delete, do i just get one for a non ac accord?

the high pressure and low pressure in regards to the ps, high is on the inside and low is on the outside? Heard I would need to make some kind of loop in order to remove just the ps belt. Is that true?

thanks

ok. new pcv is on, cleaned the iacv and reinstalled, cleaned what i could of the tb since it was still attached. idled like **** for a second due to the carb cleaner residue but it evened out good.

unplugged the neg batt cable, cleared computer, i think(certain time off?) let it idle till the fan kicked on. fan did not kick on, idle dropped to 300 and remains there.

i think, at least in part, the reason is all the crappy oil still on my plugs. I do NOY want to pull the plugs out and drop all that oil in the head. its nasty as hell and will certainly wreck havoc. WHats another way. i tried with rags but couldnt get alot out, plug the plug in and it just get soaked in oil.

i can not afford plugs and wires atm but it is on my list but what to do about the oil? i have a feeling new ones will help a bit.

power steering: I drove an 88 cougar with a 5.0, in the city and it didnt bother me. I'd like to totally remove it. Like, gone. No hoses, no nothing. My car makes a god aweful shake from that area so im just gonna kill that issue all together. It also leaks like a sive. its covered in fluid.

ac: I do not use ac. I do when the wife complains but she hasent for the past 3 years so i fell im ok. Plus she got my parents old suv and it has air. This one runs with the alt so id have to get a belt for a non ac accord. specifically an accord dx. correct?

Head swap: Would like to do a b1 vtec head. what is all required, as far as parts needed. Just the head and everything attached to it, including dizzy? wiring harness of some sort? Found this VTEC Headswap for F-series Motors but the pics are dead.

oh yea..wheel studs. Need 3. Bought 4 from autozone. found a shop to do it for 100$ since they get pressed or what not.

yes Accord dx accessory belt
compressed air will get a decent amount of the oil out just make sure you put a rag around the opening before you blow it out so you don't get oil everywhere.
you need new spark plug well gaskets to solve the oil around the spark plugs.
and forget the vtech head swap. all that work for 15hp? just put a 96 odyssey cam and ecu in there. a lot cheaper and easier. look at the specs for the 96 odyssey. same motor but 10 more hp.
