Default reviving my civic!

Hey guys Sadly my honda has a rod knock but im not giving up on it
I was wondering what I should do?
I was thinkin of getting a D16z6 block if my head is still good and getting the block resurfaced.
My question is Should I get the z6 block resurfaced? What does resurfacing really do? and what else would I need besides the block to revive my honda? Thanks for the help!

swap engine. done.

this is not a EMS related topic and Z6 engines are a dime a dozen. good luck with your revival.

Resurfacing the block/head assures a clean mating surface for the head gasket between them.
I'd also pick up brand new head studs, gaskets, water pump, timing belt, t-stat, etc.
