Adjusting height on full body coilovers, dont touch the spring?
Hey guys I am trying to set up my ride height on my new Crx coilovers but the car didnt look as I expected when I dropped it down on the garage floor.

I am under the impression the springs come with some sort of pretensioning, so I didnt touch the orange rings at all, but instead loosened the bottom gold collar and turned the body down into the tube. The front coilovers I have turned all the way in to the orange rings. The rears still have 1.5" of thread left. YET....
On the garage floor after bouncing it a few times and rolling back and forth the rear end is perfect, right close to the tire no finger gap, but the front is almost 1.25" away from the tire, a 2 finger gap.
The only way I see to get the front a little lower is to start spinning the orange rings upwards, compressing the spring, is that standard practice?

The springs wont compress anymore by moving the orange rings upwards, I believe that would actually raise the car, but Ive never had full bodies so I dont know positively
If the strut is completely extended it won't raise the car anymore, it would just compress the spring. But the bottom piece will only go up so far, thus lowering the vehicle.
Yes, compressing the spring will allow the lower gold ring to go up, thus shortening the strut overall height. But compressing the spring will change the spring preload and affect the spring rebound characteristics.
I think the fronts wont go any lower. I bottomed it out into the bottom assembly, and then lowerred the orange rings maybe 1/2" until the spring barely had any preload at all. Dropped the car down, still almost a 2 finger gap.
Is there anyway to get the front lower? Am I missing something on the setup here
