Ok I have a 2001 Acura CL TYPE S

Automatic

177,000 mileage on car

When I start it and drive it it hard shifts into second then doesnt shift at all just high Rpms

When I come up to stop signs and if I dont let it easily shift into gear

D5 starts to blink and I can continue driving and when I come to a full stop

Check Engine Light stays on

It's very hard for car to accelerate till I hold the pedal down and let it pick up speed

In order for me to get rid of the D5 blinking I have to turn off car and restart it check engine light stays on

To actually be able to drive the car in all 5 gears

I have to put it in the manual up shift downshift mode

Even then it slips into 2nd then I ease of speak to shift into 3rd and 4th and 5th is smooth

And then I can drive 80+mph on highway with no problems

I have been driving the car like this for over 2 months approximately out on 500/700 miles
Driving like this.

After searching hours online I'm pretty much guessing a bad transmission

So I wanna know all possible transmission swap options available!!!

Easier swaps the better

All I seen is you can do either the original type s trans odyssey or 04-08TLs Base models only


Are these my only option or is there others and if so

What are the requirements

I am having similar problem I have the same problem with the rpms going up m goin into gear, until finally it will not into almost at all. Please share the info of swapping cause I want to know if the us/canada ones are swappable with the japnese one. Despite info online sayin 01+ area made poorly
