Need advice for a 1998 CRV
Hi - I'm new to this site and need help with my 1998 Honda CRV. After multiple trips to the mechanic it is still running funny. The engine was triggering a misfire code. They have tested all four cylinders for compression (checked out fine), replaced the coil (which showed signs of arcing (sp?), replaced all the spark plugs and spark plug wiring and the timing belt and the problem still persists. This problem isn't a show stopper as the car always starts and always runs fine once it is warmed up. It seems to present itself particularly during cold weather (freezing and below). It starts rough in the morning when it is this cold and runs rough. The engine light blinks until you shut the engine off. After that it comes on solid and remains on thru multiple starts and stops and eventually goes off completely after the car is totally warmed up. Now that the weather is warmer, it is starting better but the engine light has stayed on. Anyone encountered this before? It's a misfire code on cylinder 4 if I recall correctly. My mechanic has tried everything. The car runs fine once it's warmed up, just starts rough when it's cold. NEVER did this before, always ran perfectly. Has 172,500 miles on it. Any advice?
