Default Question about faux carbon interior parts

I have always wondered how they were made. i know its just plastic but i was thinking hydro dipping but i dont think that was around then. Anyone happen to know?

Are they painted? I think there was a company from Japan on ebay selling other random interior pieces with the "faux" look.

Plastic pieces looks like injection molded to me and the pattern I believe was printed on, seems like a screen printing or something to that effect. The carbon pattern gets distorted on curved surfaces, like the paint template is stretched. Just a guess.
