clunking noise from front end
So my wife has a 2002 rsx, base model with an auto trans. She had a bad transmission mount that I replaced the other day, and now there's a bad clunking noise from the front end. Its coming from the passenger side and started whenever you hit a bump, but is quickly getting worse, almost to the point that all you have to do is move the car to feel it. After dealing with multiple auto related issues recently I just dont have the will to do any diagnostics at the moment. Any thoughts on what it might be? Any input is appreciated
Maybe you can get it checked to see if something under there is slack. Probably best to put the car on a lift and have a professional check it. They could also check to see if anything is worn as well.
more then like sway bar end link and bushings. they tend to go bad on these cars quickly. quick check you can do is to remove the end links or sway bar completely to see if the noise goes away. if I does I would go ahead and get some energy suspension sway bar bushings and end links. there good stuff and pretty affordable
Turned out there were two separate issues, both of which were addressed. One was a motor mount that had basically fallen apart. Replacing that greatly reduced the clunking, but not completely. The other was a blown strut. Replacing that eliminated it completely.
I had a similar problem on my 05 with noise from the drivers side....turned out it was the drivers strut.
