Default in japan need help, 99' SIR wagon

i had a check engine light scanned on my 99' SIR wagon (H23A dohc vetc mystery motor is what im hearing it called) and they said it was for the o2 sensor. does anyone know what part number would work with this motor. are they generally the same for most honda's? i want to try and order one online and not pay the $180 i was quoted from a shop here in Okinawa.

Engine is not a mystery motor. It is either the 180HP(AT) or 200HP(MT) 'Blue Top' H23 VTEC engine found in the Accord SIR of Japan. Which is the only place where it was sold.
This creates a problem as here in the USA we did not get that engine(H23 VTEC) nor did we get your type of Accord Chassis(CH9).

You may try looking for forums with CF, CH or CL chassis Accords/Toreno such as the SIR, SIR-T, or EURO- R Accord models.

FWIW this is primarily a USA based forum.

if rockauto.com will ship to you then you can just get the 97-01 prelude upstream oxygen sensor made by Denso

Is JOBD of this year still OBDI or OBDII?
I would just be curious if the pigtail length would be long enough if need be, but I guess one could always just splice.

i know its an america based forum, but honda none the less. im US air force stationed here and im kind of at mercy of the local economy when it comes to parts and such and its very over priced! according to wiki the engine produced 197hp and 163 lb-ft, how ever it does not state a difference in transmissions. looks like obd2 to me. im gonna take a good look at the sensor tomorrow and make sure the connection is the same as the one on rock auto that i have looked up as suggested by holmesnmanny and will try it out. can beat $22.79 vs $180.

Originally I was thinking obd1 simply because jdm h22a don't have obd2 emissions however with the fact that his engine is an h23a vtec and those only came obd2 I edited my post to reflect him needing the obd2 sensor. The '92-95 obd1 have one sensor. The '96 has it's own and the '97-01 have their own which is this one.

OP, you can also check which part number your local dealer has and cross reference it with the ones listed above just to be sure. I'm confident it will be somewhere in there.
