Plain and simple, where is the EVAP Purge Solenoid and how do I disconnect it? All the threads that come up when I searched are outdated and the pics don't come up. I need to do this because for the past 12 years, I've been running OBD1 in my 1999 SI and it has hard time starting after filling up the gas tank. Hasn't been a big deal as I just hold the gas pedal down when I start it up, but for some reason today I figured I'll finally find the fix.

 

Do you top off the tank when refilling?

 

Sometimes, it doesn't matter if i'm putting a couple gallons or full tank it still does it. So i want to try the EVAP thing.

 

In engine bay - 2P connector with Red/Yel and Blk/Yel wires.

I looked for a connector going into the canister with Red/Yel and Blk/Yel wires, all I could find was the plug in the picture below. It has a green and black wire, I couldn't make out the color of the stripes.

 

your evap purge solenoid would be on the intake manifold.
