Lowering springs on stock shocks? (BB6 SH)
Hey guys, I'm sorta new to the modified car scene, but I've always appreciated a lowered car next to its stock counterpart. So, I was wondering how I could lower my car without the use of full coilovers. Keep in mind that I've done internet research, and I've seen that a pretty common setup is Koni Yellows with just whatever springs (Eibach, Tien, GC, etc.), but I don't really have the money at the moment to drop a grand plus on suspension. And the answers I've gotten to asking about just putting springs on stock shocks (Also keep in mind my car has like 67k miles, so the shocks are at least fairly new) haven't really solved anything, I get everywhere from "Duh" to "Hell no." I'd just like to dispel any wrong info and get your guys' opinions and pointers for a noob. Thanks!

And please get it through your mind that you should never cheap out on components that will replace your stock suspension.
You own a prelude so respect it by giving it quality components whether they be a full coilover suspension which I recommend, or Koni's with Ground Controls.
Its your choice, but do not try and look for cheap options because unless you purchase a quality product for cheap than you should not use cheap parts on your Prelude.
I agree with Sean.
If you want to have the look and have the car last, just wait and do it right. If you just buy springs now, you will probably want to change it later, and then that is just money that you wasted.
The plus of the Ground Control setup, is that you can adjust the height, and they will also make custom springs for you if you want a stiffer or softer rate. Oh and they use Eibach springs from what I remember, so high quality. Pair them with the Koni yellow shocks, and you have a tuneable setup for a reasonable price.
Watch out for deals as well, I bought a used set on Konis for my car, for under $300, and they are still great, better then the much more expensive shocks that I keep blowing up on my other car. I would have done GC coils, but I already had Neuspeed springs on my car when I bought it.
