Default Slow/lags/low response JDM d15b y7 head

jdm d15b (obd2 i thinking)
y7 head
timing belt is loose (one side to the other)
bad mpg
po6 ecu

the symptom is... it lags from 1-3k and then at about 3.3-3.5k it starts to pick up, i had adjusted the dizzy and cable (only helped a little) still slow on the highway. Not sure it has the wrong cam gear/timing belt or what. i been driving it all this time since Nov of 2013.
Also when cold it drives fine.. but when it warms up, it starts to lag and then when you step on it, it kinda "bogs" but not really bogging, you can feel the tiny jerk in between, you can hear the engine scream almost like a B series Lol. So anyone know whats wrong?

that timing belt is WAYYY too loose your mechanical timing could be off... id fix that and do a valve adjustment... that is also the wrong cam gear if that is a y7 head. you MUST use a y7 cam gear...

sigh... idk what the previous owner was thinking. i kinda got a sense that, that cam gear wasnt the right one, could be wrong timing belt. and yes i will do a valve adjustment also.

will this be the right cam gear?

Could be the correct gear but the wrong belt. I think you're suppose to get the belt that goes along with the head

He was probably thinking of using the cam gear that came with the motor.

my other question is, if the belt skipped a tooth or so, it wouldnt be able to start at all right? i mean, it runs and drives but lags power when you step on it, could it be restriction from the exhaust or something?

its your mechanical timing being off causing it to bog ... yes that is the correct gear it only goes on one way.... it need to skip about 3 or more teeth before running into valve damage... you should be fine once u get the right cam gear on it.
